Jonas Mekas is one of the most important cultural figures of the 20th and 21st centuries for Lithuania and a global cultural phenomenon in his field, considered by many as the “godfather of avant-garde cinema”. This year, the world and Lithuania commemorate the life and work of Jonas Mekas on the occasion of his centenary.
